The Nothing Is Reel AI Film Festival is a one-day celebration of AI filmmaking built around the Summer of Love and the spirit of the 1960s, packed with short films, strange ideas, live entertainment, and a crowd that’s here to have a good time.
The festival features AI-generated short films inspired by the Summer of Love, Beatles, Sgt. Pepper, Monterey Pop, Hendrix, and the larger-than-life spirit of 1960s counterculture, all screened live for a crowd of filmmakers, creators, and attendees looking for something different. Between the red carpet, celebrity impersonators, vendors, and social atmosphere, there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.

Submissions are now open for AI-generated short films inspired by the Summer of Love, 1960s counterculture, rock and roll, Beatles, Sgt. Pepper, Monterey Pop, and the spirit of peace and love. From surreal music videos to strange cinematic experiments, the festival is looking for films that feel entertaining, memorable, and completely original.
There is a $100 submission fee, and all entries are handled through FilmFreeway.
Judging Criteria
Film Requirements
*$100 Entry Fee- Fully AI-generated — visuals, audio, editing, or acceptable hybrid workflows
- Inspired by the 60s, Summer of Love, peace, love, and rock and roll
- Runtime between 2 and 15 minutes
- Minimum 1080p resolution
- No copyrighted material of any kind
- Non-political, broadly accessible content
- Include a list of AI tools used in production
